The 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic was confirmed to have reached the French overseas department and region of Martinique in March 2020.


On 5 March, the first two cases of COVID-19 were confirmed.[1]

On 15 March, the first virus-related death and 15 affected patients in Martinique.[2]

on March 20,the prefect of Martinique issued a restrictive decree. to prohibit, for a month, access to all the beaches and rivers of the island. as well as hikes are prohibited.[3]
